This Plugin fetches a Facebook Page Photo Album as a JSON object and uses Fancybox  and PrettyPhoto to render the gallery in wordpress
It is specifically for public photos particularly those belonging to a Facebook Page. You do not need special
permissions, just the album ID and boom!

Version 2.0 was completely rewritten and makes use of wordpress’s shortcodes.

= How to use =

  • In your post just add the following [fbphotos id=x] where x is the album ID
  • To specify number of photos to show use [fbphotos id=x limit=y] where y is the number to be shown
  • You can choose 3 different sizes for  small, medium and large for thumbnails  [fbphotos id=x limit=y size=small]
  • To use in your template pages in theme development you can call the following function

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= My albums are not updating =

In your settings you set a cache time, so it will take some minutes for the changes to reflect. The longer the cache time the longer it takes for changes to reflect.

Caching however increases site speed as you dont have to poll Facebook servers everytime a visitor hits your page

= How do I get an album ID =
The album id is the number on the facebook after a. up to the next dot. Copy that number and place it between the braces.

* For example, http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.209112642458743.46995.123369051033103 the ID is 209112642458743

= Does FPPG 2.0 support the shortcode used in previous versions i.e FB-Album[] =
No. It now uses WordPress shortcode [fbphotos]

Hey, I am trying to get the Facebook Album to work – but the short Code just shows up on my site like this one above – (yours)
…Normally short code is surrounded completely by brackets…and populates the settings and album….what needs to be done?

Use the [fbphotos id="x"] shortcode. That one was for the older version

I ran into a similar problem and found that there was another plugin conflicting. try activating only FB Photo Page and Fancybox to see if it works.

I was using this plugin with no problems until you changed to the new [fbphotos] shortcode.

When the plugin got updated, it stopped working. It picks the photos from FB with no issues, but when you click any photo, the screens grays out but the photo never appears.

I already tried the usual things: uninstalling the plugin and re-installing, changing FB albums, etc. Still no luck.

Any ideas? You can check it here: http://www.gimare.com/espacio-del-tambor/

I got the same problem after upgrading. It worked fine with the previous version, but after upgrade, the thumbnails no longer display the enlarged photo. Is there a setting somewhere?

In linking a public album from a fb page, everything seems to work fine except for the thumbnails. Clicking on the images works fine so I know it is pulling from fb, but the thumbnails just appear as small white boxes.

Here is a link for your reference: http://www.pawapps.com/2011/09/21/bottle-tunes-screen-shots/

Thanks! Yours is one of the only WordPress Plugins that has worked for me!

I think you have a plugin that is stripping your html. The reason you are having boxes is because inside the link, there is supposed to be a closing italic tag but its not there. Try disabling your other plugins and see which one may be conflicting

I see only blank space in my theme…

    Need any special settings?

This plugin used to work on my site but since the latest update no thumbnails or fancyboxes appear on the pages where I enter the FB album ID. I’ve tried using the old, long code and the new short code as well as uninstalling and re-installing the plug in but to no avail. The FB profile page that is hosting the images has secured the username (http://www.facebook.com/SuperFormalFridays) somewhere along the lines of the gallery no longer pulling to the WP site but I don’t see how this would affect the galleries. I have turned off all other plugins and tried several other themes but the galleries are not appearing. Any help you can provide would save me from pulling out more of my beard trying to troubleshoot this and would be greatly appreciated..

I’ve found your widget to be the best available for my needs and extremely easy to use. Thank you for your time and for developing this plugin.

I am trying to make your plugin work on one of my pages and it seems to not be pulling my images from Facebook using the shortcode [fbphotos id=256994117666285] . Once I activate this plug in to my theme and put this shortcode in, one of my navigation items gets all messed up and my images from my facebook page don’t pull up. I know the code is trying to work because my shortcode doesn’t show up on the page. I have used your plug in before on other sites and haven’t had this problem before. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find what is causing the problem on this site. I have tried deactivating other plug ins and themes to see if that was the problem with no luck. Anyway you can help? Here is the URL to the page I am trying to make it work: http://www.zefyrie.com/aautorepair/gallery/

Sorry about that. I tried to fix it a bit myself with no luck. Good news, It’s no longer messing with my theme. So now the only problem is that the pictures just aren’t appearing on my page now.

I reactivated the plugin and put the code [fbphotos id=129067313773403] into the page using the album from this facebook album url: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.129067313773403.24635.129060503774084 . For some reason it’s still not working.

Is there any way I can specify how many coloumns if thumbnails I want? At the moment If I have 3 coloumns it doesn’t mess my theme up but add another coloumn and the theme get’s messed up.

  8. admin
    Sep 29, 2011 @ 05:53:33

The gallery takes the most of the available space in a container. To create more columns then you need to reduce the size of the thumbnails, in your settings or css.

Nice idea, but it is not working – http://dg.safenic.net/2010/01/cranberry-jam/

    Using – [fbphotos id=1256837075139]

      Sep 29, 2011 @ 07:28:08

The reason its not working is because the album does not belong to a page rather it belongs to a user Denver Gives.

To get this album you need an access_token from Facebook. You can use the pro version Facebook Walleria found at http://zoxion.com/facebook-walleria and can be purchased for $20.

This Plug works fine on a wordpress website (main site) with me. But when I try to use it on a subsite it doesn’t work anymore.

Does this module not support subsites or is something else the problem?

    I’m using wordpress 3.2.1

    • Freeman
      Sep 29, 2011 @ 18:03:44

If you are using multisites, you dont have to network activate the plugin, rather you go to each site and activate the plugin in the subsite’s dashboard.

      Hope it helps
